Optimus Production:
Right now, Tesla can build 12 Optimus robots at at a time in its Fremont factory.
They can make about 1,000 robots a month with the current setup.
The next production line should allow for 10,000 robots per month. 120K a year.
The third-generation line is planned to be 10 times more powerful - 100,000 per Month - 1.2M per year.
Tesla hopes to produce 5,000 Optimus robots by the end of 2025.
AI for Robots: The AI used in the Optimus robot is much bigger and more complex than the one used in Tesla cars. So is the Neural Net!
Dojo Supercomputer:
Tesla’s next version of its Dojo computer (Dojo 2) is expected in 2026. It’ll be more efficient and cheaper than Nvidia’s current systems, but not quite as powerful yet.
Dojo 3 is planned for 2028. Tesla hopes to close the performance gap with Nvidia by making faster, more specialized chips and cutting costs.
